About
Is Luton Airport Busy? is an independent tool that predicts how busy security is at London Luton Airport (LTN), so you can decide what time to arrive.
What this site does
Airports rarely publish live security queue times, so travellers guess how early to arrive. This site removes some of that guesswork. It takes the published Luton departures schedule and turns it into an estimate of how many people will reach security in each 15-minute period, and how long the resulting queue is likely to be. You can check how busy it is right now, see today's busiest period, and get a recommended arrival time for your flight.
How it works
The prediction is schedule-derived, not a live measurement. Each departing flight's passengers are spread across a show-up curve that opens a few hours before departure, and the total is compared to how many passengers security can process. When demand rises above capacity, a queue builds. The full method, including the assumptions and data sources, is on the methodology page.
Independent and data-driven
This is an independent project. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by London Luton Airport or any airline. Flight schedule and aircraft data is provided by AeroDataBox. Every figure is an advisory estimate - always follow your airline's guidance and leave a buffer.
Who it is for
It is built for anyone flying out of London Luton who wants a clearer sense of how early to get to the airport - especially during the early-morning rush when the terminal is busiest.
